Sabine Trowe, who initially worked as a marketing expert in the advertising industry, always felt more drawn to the artistic and creative aspects of her environment. As the daughter of a cartoonist she was confronted with the creative arts from her earliest childhood memories, hence she began experimenting with watercolors at an early stage. The impact that different paper structures, strengths, grain, etc., had on how beautifully the watercolors flowed across the paper, propelled Sabine’s passion and inspired her to learn the art of creating paper.

The paper, which Sabine hand crafts herself is solely comprised of natural materials. Dried, pressed flowers and plants, along with toxic free coloring pigments, are added to the raw “pulp” in order to create unique paper sheets with different transparency and density. After working closely with renowned artists such as Helmut Frerick, Marc Thompson and Sait Günel, Sabine dedicated herself to perfecting her skills in the art of book binding, especially in the field of various Asian techniques.
Today she combines extraordinary natural resources and her own aquarelles to express herself in a very personal manner.

Sabine is a member of IAPMA (International Association of Hand Papermakers and Paper Artists) and is in constant contact with colleagues from around the world.
